School Regulations & Discipline

Discipline is the foundation of education at Mother India Higher Secondary School. The institution strongly believes that structured behavior, punctuality, and respect for rules shape students into responsible and successful individuals. The school has established clear regulations that apply to all students and staff, creating a secure and respectful learning environment for all.

General Conduct

Every student is expected to maintain high standards of behavior, both within and outside the classroom. Courteous conduct, respect for teachers and fellow students, and a sense of responsibility are continuously emphasized.

  • Students must speak politely and respectfully with peers, teachers, and support staff.
  • Any form of bullying, misconduct, or damage to school property will result in disciplinary action.
  • Students must carry their school diary and identity card daily.
Attendance and Punctuality

Regular attendance is essential for academic success. Students are expected to attend all classes and activities unless prior permission for leave has been granted.

  • The school starts with a morning prayer session from 9:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Classes run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:20 p.m., with a lunch break from 12:20 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • A minimum of 85% attendance is mandatory to appear in final examinations.
Uniform and Appearance

The school uniform instills a sense of unity and discipline. All students must follow the dress code strictly.

  • Uniform must be neat, clean, and worn properly on all working days and school events.
  • Boys must keep their hair well-groomed, and girls must maintain a tidy appearance.
  • Students are not allowed to wear fancy accessories, makeup, or casual footwear.
Examination Code of Conduct

Strict examination rules ensure fairness and academic integrity. The school follows continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) for assessing student progress.

  • Students must not bring books, papers, or mobile phones into the examination hall.
  • Borrowing materials during exams is strictly prohibited.
  • Any student caught using unfair means will be awarded zero and may face suspension or dismissal.
Parent Cooperation

Discipline is most effective when supported by parents. The school encourages active communication between parents and teachers to jointly nurture student behavior.

  • Parents must check progress reports, sign test papers, and attend parent-teacher meetings.
  • Regular updates and reminders are shared to ensure transparency and engagement.
Staff Conduct and Monitoring

The school maintains discipline not only among students but also staff, ensuring punctuality and commitment.

  • Teachers must use the biometric system for daily attendance.
  • All faculty members are expected to maintain a professional appearance. Female staff are required to wear sarees, and male teachers must wear formal coats while teaching.
  • Uninformed late arrivals or absences are not tolerated.

At Mother India Higher Secondary School, rules are not meant for punishment—they are designed to instill responsibility and character. Students are taught that discipline is a lifelong value that lays the foundation for future success.
