Examination Policies

Mother India Higher Secondary School follows a rigorous and transparent examination policy designed to evaluate the academic progress of each student continuously and comprehensively. The goal is not only to assess knowledge but also to encourage regular study habits, conceptual clarity, and consistent improvement.

Examination Structure

The academic year is divided into terms, during which various types of assessments are conducted:

  • Three Terminal Examinations: These are held at the end of each term and cover the full syllabus taught during the period.
  • Three Mid-Term Tests: Conducted between terminal exams to review progress and strengthen preparation.
  • Weekly Cycle Tests: Held for all subjects to ensure regular revision and concept reinforcement.

This multi-layered assessment pattern helps track student performance consistently and allows timely intervention when needed.

Evaluation System

The school adopts the CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) system, which includes both scholastic and co-scholastic areas.

  • Summative Assessment (SA): Accounts for 60% of the total evaluation and is based on terminal examinations.
  • Formative Assessment (FA): Accounts for 40%, based on class tests, assignments, projects, and daily class performance.
  • Instead of raw marks, students are awarded grades based on their performance, promoting stress-free learning.
Result & Report Communication
  • After each test and exam, answer scripts are sent home for parental review and signature.
  • Progress Reports are issued post each mid-term and terminal exam.
  • On Open Day, parents are expected to meet the teachers and discuss their child’s progress. Failure to attend may result in the student not being allowed to attend class on the following day.

Mother India Higher Secondary School ensures that its examination policy promotes academic excellence, honesty, and continuous learning. Students are taught to treat every assessment as an opportunity to grow, and every result as a stepping stone toward success.

Examination Hall Rules

To maintain discipline and integrity, the school enforces strict rules during examinations:

  • Students must not carry books, notes, or unauthorized materials into the examination hall.
  • Only transparent pouches with essential stationery are allowed.
  • Absolute silence must be maintained; any act of malpractice will result in serious disciplinary action including disqualification or suspension.
  • A student found copying or assisting others will be given zero marks in that subject and may face dismissal at the Principal’s discretion.
Minimum Pass Criteria
  • A minimum of 35% is required in each subject to be considered as a pass.
  • Answer scripts are evaluated and returned to students for parent review.
  • Class teachers ensure that marks are recorded and progress reports are updated accurately.
